The most academically-committed of the group, Jace eventually went on to study Law at university, at one of London's most proliphic universities. While there he met his future wife Stephanie; he also served for a year as the President of the Student Union - Stephanie still refers to him as "Mr President" from time to time. After graduating, he an Stephanie married: shortly afterwards Jace's mother sadly died and, with their father's mental state in question, the couple agreed to become legal guardians of Jace's youngest sibling, Katrina, and remained as such throughout her teen years.

Jace is almost completely estranged from his brother Tom. The two fell out over Tom's decision to move to America: Tom felt that he was distancing himself from his family in order to protect them from any backlash from the discovery of his mutation; Jace meanwhile percieved it as running away. The two have not spoken since.

In October of the year Kat started at university, Jace's daughter Louise was born; by then, Jace was working for the Crown Prosecution Service. His happy family life came to an abrupt end however when he was attacked in his home by a masked assailant, and hospitalised. It soon emerged that it was part of a ploy to draw their father - secretly a former spy - into the open. Walter Harriman was later killed, as was Jason: however, he was lucky enough to be brought back to life by a powerful mutant, but was placed in protective custody by Section 13 in order to prevent the mutant from discovering he had failed.
