History

The Krath (or The Obsidian Order) was created in November 2002 by Jeseth Cloak and Jehova Eaven, and first appeared In Character in The Circle of Nine - though the first hint of the Krath's presence in the Galaxy came with Nivram Draklar's attack on Coruscant, to which Jeseth, Salem and numerous others were witness. Out of Character, The Krath was formed as an alternative to the two existing Dark Side groups of the time - The Sith Order and The Black Hand, with Cloak having been a member of both and founder of the latter. Almost immediately after the formation of the group, both Cloak and Eaven vanished, and Salem Ave became the new leader - though in time he too would betray the group, as his Master had done before him. Given that a number of the factions founders had exhibited fickle loyalties in the past, it should come as no surprise that the existence of the Krath was no especially long-lived. With the exception of Cloak and Eaven, and later the arrival of Zasz Grimm, the group was populated entirely by Knights and Apprentices and thus failed to have any huge impact on the galaxy.

The Iron Citadel

The group was based in the abandoned city of Cinnagar on Koros Major. Their base was a building known as The Iron Citadel, a ruined old castle surrounded by the thick and impenetrable Termagent forest. The home of the Krath was perhaps one of the most unique bases of any faction. The forest which surrounded the Citadel was comprised largely of Baffor trees. Native to the planet Ithor, the Baffor trees were said to possess telepathic abilities and a degree of sentience, which increased based on how many trees clustered together. Though the plants intelligence was limited, Salem Ave saw potential in them and planted them as a kind of living, thinking wall around the Citadel. The forest was tended to by the Black Waltz whilst the Citadel was maintained by the Master Groundskeeper, both creatures of unknown origin whose unusual appearance and genetic make-up was wholly unique.

The Krath was ruled by a governing body of all members who were ranked Knight and above. For a time, each of these members was considered one of the 'Pillars' of the group, a tradition which originated at the groups creation through the selection of runes.
