Syragor is arid and cold, with large continents dominated by commanding plateaus looking out over steppes. The plateau tops are often crowned with busy cityscapes, where below them, dirty slums sprawl out across the plains. The slums are known as Daitha'ka Na'Forrdahyu, which is translated to "The Human Quarters". Historically a mixed-species settlement, the low-lying slums were traditionally where the poorer human population lived, though these days the population in both the plateau cities and the "human quarters" are well mixed.

Fauna
|
Much of the bio-diversity of Syragor actually comes from transplant species from Carshoulis Prime. Though originally a habitable planet, very little in the way of life forms inhabited the world until Cizerack settlers brought it with them.
The land-based fauna include the taaika, a popular game deer. The Kaatho bison is far larger and more robust, and was historically used by ancient Cizerack as beasts of burden. Modern Kaatho bison are eaten on festivals, where they are slaughtered in public and portioned off to the lower classes. Nyaakii are a poisonous bird native to the tropic zones, but their unhatched chicks are sometimes eaten as a delicacy and aphrodesiac.
Sajoi, ever-popular food rodents aren't native to Carshoulis, but have been imported and encouraged to reproduce at a prodigious rate, to the point where they're a sustainable food item, even given the felinoids' voluminous taste for the animals. Similarly, other popular food creatures in the galaxy such as thimiarr from planet Shili, nala tree frogs, and gorgs have been imported, and thrive as introduced species.
Syragor, like all Cizerack worlds, have no apex predators. These were hunted into extinction by the Cizerack, who viewed any large predator not as a threat to themselves, but as unneeded competition for food sources. The ecosystem of Carshoulis, and therefore the colonies, has been manicured so that at least 80% of the fauna are desirably edible live food.

Society
|
Syragor is in many ways a contradiction of many of the Cizerack social norms, realized into it's own unique culture. Having been inhabited by humans as well as Cizerack for nearly a thousand years, a strange melting pot has developed on the planet. A large portion of the population are actually of mixed species descent, and the planet's many languages, dominated by Cizeri as well as Basic, has caused a regional patois to develop that is unique to the planet. So unique is a Syragori dialect that many Cizerack from the homeworld have trouble deciphering what they're saying at all.
Cizerack matriarchal norms are entrenched on Syragor, but many of the speciesist tendencies of other Pride worlds are relaxed almost to the point of nonexistance. Syragor is often seen as an "open planet", encouraging immigration and diversity to exist to bolster it's own unique culture. It possesses a thriving arts and music culture all it's own.
Exploited to some degree by Carshoulis Prime and the other colony worlds, Syragor is among the poorest of the worlds in the Carshoulis Cluter, and even outside of the slum quarters, most inhabitants earn well under the mean income of Pride citizens.

Government
|
Syragor, like all colony worlds, elects a Governor's Board of corporate magnates to determine policy and the application of local laws. One member of the board is appointed to report directly to the Pride Mother. Individual cities and townships have an appointed Matriarch to apply law on an even more local level, including but not limited to the raising of constables for law enforcement, taxation, and other municipal duties.

History
|
Syragor, similar to other planets in the Carshoulis Cluster, was uninhabited according to Rakatan Star Charts, and was only recently colonized within the last two thousand years by the Cizerack themselves. A thousand years ago, the Galactic Republic entered into official channels with the Cizerack Pride, and a zone of influence was created for the Republic on Syragor. The Republic, or at least greedy Senators who represented it, took advantage of the zone of influence and used it to enable millions of Republic citizens to forcibly emigrate into the Carshoulis Cluster. The theory was that by skewing the demographics of the planet, the enabling Senators would be able to eventually annex a voting bloc into the Galactic Senate. The gambit backfired and infuriated the Pride Mother at the time, launching the Battle of Syragor, which was a brief but alarmingly violent conflagration between the Republic (and Jedi Knights) and the forces of the Pride. Billions of people were killed, mostly Cizerack, and the battle ended with terms that were uneasy at best for both parties. Syragor was rebuilt, and the strange mixed species demographics of the planet continued to endure, defining its legacy which continues today. Originally segregated into slum communities, the human colonists eventually became effective equals with the Cizerack nativists.
