History

Vladimir Park Kraken entered the Imperial Navy at the age of eighteen, completing officer training school and being assigned the rank of Commander soon afterwards based on promising scores. His first command was the Carrack Cruiser Longlance which he attained at the age of twenty. During an incident that has been buried in the annuls of Imperial History Commander Kraken was ambushed by a Rebel Force while pursuing smugglers in the Outer-Rim. Although he managed to destroy the small Rebel Force his cruiser became disabled during the battle and ended up drifting for several weeks before an Imperial Patrol Ship came upon the hapless vessel. During the intervening time the crew had mutinied, an unheard of event at the time. Despite his victory Kraken was given a desk job in the Imperial Capitol world of Coruscant, pushing papers here and there.

Although the going was tough and boring, Park completed one task after another with great enthusiasm, anticipating an eventual return to space. After rising through the ranks of seniority to Vice Admiral he was finally given a chance at the age of forty to return to the stars. Making an immediate impact he organized fleets of Victory and Imperial class Star Destroyers to raid Rebel worlds, using the Alliance's own tactics against them. He also instituted rebuild programs of older Imperial ships, turning out fresh and modern ships in half the time or less it took to build a new ship. For this effort he was promoted to the rank of Admiral and given the permanent commander of an Imperial-II class Star Destroyer.

Next he set about training up a force of Imperial Star Destroyers collected from various commands around the Empire, fielding an impressively sized force without reducing strength too much at anyone point. Adding brutality to his list of traits, Park trained up the fleet by executing Base Delta Zero bombardements on several Alliance Outpost worlds, reducing them to slag and glass. When he felt the force was sufficently trained, he designated it Task Force Maelstrom and used to raid the Alliance Shipyard planet of Sullust, home to Sorosuub. During the raid the Imperial Fleet destroyed all of Sullust's orbital shipyards and slagged half the planet, killing millions of Sullustians. Despite the excellent outcome the Imperial Fleet was still considered to have been run off by converging Alliance forces and took heavier losses than originally projected. Because of this, Task Force Maelstrom was forcibly disbanded by Imperial High Command, with Admiral Kraken retaining command of just the Suppressor.

After his ship recieved minor repairs at Kuat Drive Yards, Park set off to the Atravis Sector in the Outer-Rim, chasing reports of Alliance uprisings on several of the worlds there. Intending to implement some more razing policies to help quiet the Sector down, Park was instead treated as an Observer by High Admiral Garrack and accompanied him on an Imperial Raid on Mustafar aboard the Praetor-II Star Battlecruiser Omnipotent. Thanks to Park's sound advice a disaster was avoided as the Omnipotent managed to slip away from Mustafar after most of her escortin fighter force had been annihilated. Upon returning to Atravis Park took command of local forces while the High Admiral stayed with his precious flagship as she received repairs at Heriston. A large Alliance fleet emerged two weeks later to attack Atravis. Despite a spirited defense, the Imperials were driven off, with the Suppressor sustaining heavy damage. Instead of withdrawing with the other Imperial ships to Heriston, Park took the Suppressor back to Kuat Drive Yards for repairs and so avoided the fate of the other Atravis Sector fleet vessels that were later either destroyed or captured during the Battle of Heriston.

Current Activities

Park Kraken currently commands the Imperial-II class Star Destroyer Suppressor, recently repaired at Kuat Drive Yards.
