Orange Diren is the Head Mechanic at Coruscant's largest ship ports.
Basic Nature and Perceptions
Orange Diren is a wild child who actually does not care to think of what others might perceive. However she is sure some find her to be rude, overly sexual, a tease, harsh, and perhaps a bit too wild. Although she grew up without any proper role models, she can be the exact opposite of what people might think of her as.
Backstory
Early Teens
Orange Diren has never known anything other than what she has seen and learned from her own experiences in life and how she was raised. Unsure of where she was born, Orange considers her home planet to be Tatooine. Orphaned after birth, Orange was sent to an overrun and very poorly institutionalized orphanage. Almost like a concentration camp, at the age of 5 she was soon put to work to pay for her housing and her food. Without labor laws or anyone knowing what kind of harsh conditions these children were put through, Orange somehow overcame the life of a slave by teaching herself how to read and to write, learning always being a trait she could count on.
She was forced to work in factories, warehouses, sewers, anywhere and everywhere that allowed her to be out of the public eye and would keep her working for hours on end to make-up for those first five years of when she was cared for by the orphanage. Despite the grim future that many of the orphans faced, Orange did not want to be like them, whether it be staying in the orphanage until the age of 18 or to die at the hands of factory machinery. She studied books she found at the workplace, mainly focusing on parts of machines or the way things were created. Having found a love for learning about mechanics and tools she soon had the advantage. At the age of 13 she was discovered by a Russian man named Harold Gradenko, the owner of Tatooine's ports and night manager. Her intelligence and her ability to fix things, being gifted in using her hands and her brain, he adopted her and put her to use at his port.
Although conditions for living might have been the same, Orange fell in love with the dormitories and the life she lead at the port. She moved up the ranks almost within a year, and was soon titled 'Head Mechanic' at the age of 14. Living amongst nothing but men, Orange grew accustomed to their way of living. Being able to hang with the men she picked up their traits, becoming nothing short of a tomboy. From being able to take showers with the men, picking up perverse humor, to bad habits, Orange was always one of the guys, until puberty struck. Soon, men were no longer treating her like a guy, but in fact as a female. Wandering eyes caused her to stop showering with them, perverse jokes were no longer said to her, and soon she realized she was blossoming into a beautiful young girl.
This newfound attention she started getting from the workers was a pivotal moment in her life. Orange began to experiment with her sexuality and soon got into a relationship with the 45 year old Harold. Although a good lover and someone who taught her many things eventually they parted due to fear of their age difference. Before long, after becoming the resident "wife" to all the men and their needs, the sensations Orange got were not enough and soon she realized that she could not only enjoy sex, but get paid for it as well. Orange, on the side, soon began to sell herself to the men at the dorms and also to strangers on the street.
She frequented bars and soon made a name for herself amongst those in the community. Although she was young, her expirience was wide and different, helping everyone being satisfied in the end. But as she became good at both trades, sex and mechanics, her life was drastically altered when she met a man by the name of Haruko Lawson.
Although, to Orange, meeting a man in a hotel room was nothing different for her, after being with Haruko just one night something seemed to change. Unlike her other prospects, he seemed to actually respect her in bed. Of course, she figured it was nothing and after she was paid she was ready to leave, but a soft coo from the man asking her to stay was something she had never experienced before. Declining she left, but it was not the last time she would see him. Soon, his calls became almost routine and after several more times together her outlook on prostitution was changing. Nights with Haruko began to bring her satisfaction she had never felt before, like she actually had a place to go, and a person who loved her, afterall it was something she had never felt before. Soon after a few times together, that lasted for more than a day, the two unofficially began to see each other.
Orange's prostituting slowed down as she began to make a connection with the Asian, and soon after he expressed his disliking for it, stopped altogether. Orange, for the first time in her life, had never felt so free and so happy. She quickly fell in love with him and soon they lived together for almost two years, filling a void inside of her she had never felt before. But that was to change after spending two years of sheer bliss with him.
While Haruko was away on a business trip, out of loneliness, Orange began to frequent bars and strip clubs, even paying for sex. She had a few hook-ups with random people, even strippers. One night Orange found herself at a local bar, drowning her sorrows for her love, but found much more than what she was looking for in the bottom of her glass. She met a man named Aiden Glen and began a conversation with him. Feeling there was nothing to fear, Orange took him up on an offer to go back to his place for a few "friendly" drinks figuring he wanted a good romp in the sack. But somehow, things began to strike her as odd about the man and instinct told her that this was not what she had thought it to be.
Fearing for her life Orange tried to leave the man's home, but was attacked, bound, beaten, and raped. Although the emotional scars would remain, a physical scar was to be a painful reminder of that wretched night, having been branded by a hot iron rot in the form of a scorpion.
After months of tormenting herself she eventually vowed to never have sex again for money, but her desperation to have her mind occupied caused her to leave Haruko without even so much as writing him a note. Moving back to the dormitories, Orange forced herself into her mechanics never once looking back into her past.
Late Teens
Actually withholding the promise she made to herself, Orange became the best mechanic on site, her work replaced all other feelings in her life, aside from her optimism and her love for music and everything Nihonjin. Lucky shined upon her after many months of feeling her work in Tatooine was to go nowhere, she was toying with the idea of leaving. There, by accident, she was met by a small Japanese family on their way to Coruscant, introducing her to the Lawson Family. Almost immediately Orange found her hormones in a whirl when meeting the youngest, Jiro Lawson, brother to the owner of the ship named Taro Lawson as well as his girlfriend Jesimae Phoenix. In need of a live-in mechanic, they hired her to live aboard their ship and to help maintain their ship. Gleefully accepting, but for a nice price, the family set off to Coruscant, but the long trip to the city forced a closeness she wasn't truly expecting with Jiro.
Their similar humour, interest, and same love for anything Nihonjin, the two soon felt attracted to each other. But the love that budded within days became consuming, if not obsessive for Orange. Having lost a love, and fearing of being rejected or hurt, she became possessive. Fearing something illicit was going on between the two brothers, tensions rose high and arguments flared. It was obvious that Taro and Orange were not going to get along.
Despite the fights with Taro and Jiro, once going so far as throwing shoes at him, the two made it to Coruscant alive, but the possessive qualities she had were too much and the pair were always hanging by a thread, but the fierce passion they shared was too great for either of them to leave. But still, tensions rose to new levels after the Lawson family was attacked by two strangers in the night, almost ending everyone's lives. But that was just the beginning, the attackers were all too familiar for Orange, as well as Jiro who had experienced the same encounter with Aiden. Glen had come back into their lives as well as Haruko coming back into hers.
Aiden, having fled the scene, Haruko was captured by the family and interrogated quickly finding out that not only was he part of the Lawson family, but was Orange's past love. Having Haruko suddenly back into her life made things particularly difficult, especially on Orange and Jiro's relationship. Choosing who she was going to be with a conflict she still struggles with today.
Fortunately she stayed by Jiro, but unfortunately past loves continued to rear their ugly heads. A past love of Jiro's named Ren Wilcox caused strife between the two, fights always common. However they managed to stay together until Jiro met a man by the name of Alexander Mirit. Finding out about the cheating, Orange left, but still, the love they had was strong and they resumed seeing each other after the failed time apart. Still, however, their relationship was rocky and with a trip to Naboo to set aside their differences, Orange witnessed a kiss between he and an old flame she did not know. Sad, heartbroken, and enrage, Orange slipped back to her safety net and picked up a man at the bar of their hotel. But before the two could complete the unmentioned task, Jiro walked in to find her wrapped around the stranger. Needless to say Orange left, leaving a hateful note to Jiro.
Orange, always changing, took the time without Jiro to begin working on herself, trying to be more kind and less suspicious of everyone, as well as letting her baggage go and to be more relaxed. But with the accident of Jesimae she was thrust back into the past. Jiro had resumed a relationship with Ren and seeing it made her upset, but she managed. However, more recently, she has been considering her sexuality. Never able to be with the one man she truly loves, she has been playing with the idea that since all she has had is bad luck with men she should try women. Most recently she agreed to help a young woman with her ship whom she happens to find very attractive.
Important People
There are few people that Orange feels connected to, for her being so hard to get along with and being very possessive and obsessive. Orange claims to be friends with only three people, two of who are possible enemies.
