The Nebulon-B Frigate is a small capital ship used by the Empire and Alliance as well as other Independent orginizations.

Design
These ships have several docking fixtures for fighter craft as well as light and medium freighters. Also the Nebulon-B has sophisticated sensors and deep-space, multi-frequency antennas, allowing them to function as long-range scouts or relay battle information to a command ship. These vessels proved very capable of their designed task and soon phased out the old C Class frigates. Many of these vessels somehow found their way into rebel and pirate hands. Many Nebulon B Frigates were modified into mobile medical vessels for use in the Alliance support services fleet.
History
Also known as the rebel cruiser these ships were built by the empire as counter insurgency vessels. Built to defend Imperial convoys from rebel and pirate attacks.
