"When power is invested in many, it can never be seized by one! That was the plan and the purpose when the Republic was formed."
―Bail Organa

While the Alliance High Command oversaw the military operations of the Rebel Alliance, and the Alliance Advisory Council provided legislative oversight, it fell to the Alliance Cabinet to provide the core of the executive and political aspect of the Alliance government. The Cabinet and its Minsters were tasked with taking the policies put forward by the Chief of State, and approved by the Advisory Council, and converting them into specific projects and actions that could actually be implemented and realised.

The majority of the Cabinet's roles focussed on the health and wellbeing of the civilian populations under Alliance protection, through Education, Finance, and Industry. However, other aspects interacted with the ongoing conflict with the Empire: the Minister of War was part of the military infrastructure, while the Minister of Supply oversaw both military and civilian aspects of the Alliance's acquisition and appropriations work.

Leadership

The Minister of State served both as the Chief Minister and Foreign Minister, giving them oversight over both internal and external affairs relating to the Alliance. This included maintaining diplomatic relations with foreign governments, and also attending to internal issues relating to the interaction between member races of the Alliance. Internal security was a significant concern for the Minister, and the Ministry worked in close concert with Alliance Intelligence to maintain a defense against foreign espionage.

The Minister of Finance is the individual tasked with supervising the Alliance Treasury. Not only is their role essential for the investment and funding of various aspects of the government and military; the Alliance also extensively employs smugglers, mercenaries, bounty hunters, and privateers, all of whom require payment. Such funds need to be sourced; the Minister interacts with various governments and banking clans to secure funds, as well as managing a portfolio of business investments to generate high levels of revenue. Now that the Alliance has the political support of sovereign worlds, the Ministry also sources revenue via customs and taxation from those worlds.

Without the Empire's infrastructure on Alliance allied worlds, and with a vast number of children living as refugees, education is of paramount importance to the Alliance. The Minister of Education oversees the provision not only of basic schooling to children, but also training in industries for those seeking to work and support the civilian efforts of the Rebellion, and military training for those wishing to actively participate in the war effort. There are also youth programs that echo the Sub-Adult Groups of COMPNOR, but that aim to undo the indoctrination of the Imperial education system and the New Order, and re-educate children with a more impartial version of history.

  • Minister of Education -

Though the term Minister of Industry conjures up images of factories and heavy duty fabrication, the role also includes business and commerce. This places the Minister in a role to coordinate and liaise with multiple different industries, ranging from agriculture and mining to engineering and aerospace. This includes military contracts, such as the production of starfighters and starships for the Alliance by companies like the SoroSuub Corporation, Mon Calamari Shipyards, Slayn & Korpil, and the Incom Corporation.

  • Minister of Industry -

The Minister of Supply oversees both a civilian Ministry of Supply, and also a military branch called the Ordnance and Supply Command. While the Ministry deals with obtaining supplies from legitimate sources through trade, agriculture, and industry (in association with the Minister of Industry), the Ordnance and Supply Command focuses on obtaining ships, supplies, technology and weapons via more aggressive and clandestine means. The latter agency also encompasses the research and development efforts of the Alliance. The Minister is one of only a handful of individuals who can issue letters of marque, to engage the services of privateers.

  • Minister of Supply -

Rather than overseeing a specific Ministry, the Minister of War instead acts as the second-in-command of the Alliance High Command, acting as the direct deputy to the Commander-in-Chief. This places her in direct oversight of all military operations, and allows her to coordinate with other Ministers - such as Supply and Industry - to facilitate any joint operations between civilian and military aspects of the Alliance.

Various other civil servants fill roles of importance within the Alliance government, but do not hold specific positions on the Alliance Cabinet.
