Jeseth Cloak served as a Jedi of the Old Republic for twenty-six years before the rise of The Galactic Empire. In the years of civil conflict leading up to the Clone Wars, the Jedi Council had suspected him of having fallen to the Dark Side of the Force. Jedi Master Liam Jinn came to his defense before the Jedi Council and cleared his name, despite the serious misgivings that most of the other Jedi had about Jeseth. He lost his younger sister at the hands of Anakin Skywalker when Chancellor Palpatine ordered that the Jedi be purged from galaxy, and later went into exile on the planet Ilum in the Unknown Regions of space.
He spent twenty-five years there - in relative seclusion - before finally being sought out. Jedi Knight Kelt Simoson, convinced that Jeseth was responsible for humanitarian crimes committed during the era of the Old Republic, came to Ilum with the intent of bringing him to justice. Jeseth murdered Kelt Simoson in self defense.
