A member of the Techno Union during the waning years of the Galactic Republic, Kalibac Industries was a developer of high quality droids. It was based in the Huppla Pasa Tisc Hive, and was translocated to Hypori by Baktoid Armor Workshop to establish a secret droid foundry in advance of the outbreak of the Clone Wars. Kalibac had hoped that the reputation of his company would earn him a position of authority within the Separatist Droid Army, but his business was nationalised by Poggle the Lesser and integrated into Geonosian Industries: a unified industrial corporation that he controlled.
Kalibac regained control of his company after the defeat of the Separatists, and was permitted to continue developing and producing non-combat droids on the condition that he leave Hypori and it's droid factories behind. It became the holding company for Baktoid Industries and it's still-active subsidiaries - Baktoid Armor Workshop and Cestus Cybernetics - and Kalibac also gained control of the Huppla Pasa Tisc Shipwrights Collective, another former Geonosis Industries subsidiary from Hypori. He moved his business to Procopia, but after a drawn-out rivalry with Cybot Galactica, the business found itself in financial difficulties. Kalibac agreed to sell a controlling interest of his business to the Ouishii Kajidic, provided that he was allowed to remain as CEO.
Kalibac Industries currently shares control of it's subsidiaries with Ubrikkian Steamworks, including the Cestus Cybernetics research and development
When Kalibac Industries was merged with Ubrikkian Industries, it became the de facto research and development branch for Ubrikkian Steamworks. Kalibac was installed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Ubrikkian Steamworks, and worked closely with Ubrikkian Industries' CEO, Skylar Trezen.
Hierarchy
Baktoid Industrial Systems
Following the end of the Clone Wars, and the collapse of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Galactic Empire imposed sanctions against the corporations who had manufactured arms for the Separatists. Many of those corporations collapsed as a result, but ownership was acquired by Kalibac Industries, who organised them into the holding corporation Baktoid Industrial Systems. Though the company does not produce any Baktoid technologies directly, it does provide licences to other companies to manufacture certain select products, where local laws make it legal to do so.
Cestus Cybernetics
Formerly the research and development arm of Baktoid Combat Automata, Cestus Cybernetics was one of the few corporations that continued to exist after the collapse of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, largely due to it's prominent role as the corporate-government of Ord Cestus. It is currently controlled jointly with Kalibac Industries.
While most former Separatist droids are outlawed by Imperial trade sanctions, Cestus Cybernetics has been allowed to continue manufacturing a few designs in small numbers for non-military applications. The Cestus Aqua Droid is marketed as a patrol and exploration droid for aquatic worlds; the LM-432 Crab Droid is marketed as a defense droid for asteroid mining and remote outposts with hostile environments; and the Pistoeka Sabotage Droid or "Buzz Droid" is popular with law enforcement and customs forces to deter and disable smugglers and pirates.
Huppla Pasa Tisc Shipwrights Collective
A Geonosian artisan collective, specialising in the construction of luxury solar sail craft. Officially, Huppla Pasa Tisc is owned by Kalibac Industries, but produces craft and components to satisfy contracts for Ubrikkian Private Shipwrights.
Rossum Droidworks
A corporation established by Iaco Stark after the Clone Wars, Rossum Droidworks (RDW) specialised in repairing and restoring Separatist droid units. Though Imperial sanctions prevented the construction of new units, numerous droids - some scavenged directly, others constructed from salvaged parts - remained in circulation; Rossum Droidworks provided access to spare parts and restoration services. Following the death of Stark and his heir in 3 BBY, the company found it's way into the hands of Ambassador Wrath, who contributed it's services to the Zann Consortium, helping to develop the Droideka Mark II.
