Zachariah Jak'el is a TIE Fighter pilot for the Galactic Empire. He serves within the elite Shadow Squadron in the role of Shadow Nine.

Biography

| Zachariah Jak'el was born and raised outside of Theed City, the capital city of the planet Naboo. His family were farmers, and came from a long line of farmers that dated all the way back to the original human colonists. A few years after his younger brother Jorghan was born there came a call for colonists to settle on Rori, one of Naboo's moons. They were promised a rich planet and abundant resources. The Jak'el family jumped at the chance to pull themselves out of such a meager lifestyle. Instead of riches and a better life they found hardship and trial. Rori was covered in swamps and the work was hard and demanding. The family was living in Narmle when the Brainworm Rot Plague reemerged. The disease was easily treated but was not caught in time to safe several dozen colonists who died. Among them Zak's mother, father, and younger brother.
With only a few living relatives remaining, Zak was shuttled back to Naboo and sent to live with his Grandma; Nala Kirkbaine. He returned to working the fields, this time living outside of the city of Kadaara. It was here that an Imperial Recruiting campaign came and began recruiting new soldiers to serve as Storm Troopers and TIE pilots. Many of Zak's friends volunteered and Zak along with them. He wanted to get away from Naboo and he wanted to accomplish something in his life other than just being a farmer. He had no flying experience but proved to be a hard learned as he was placed in the TIE Fighter program and quickly rushed through training. In his first space battle most of Zak's friends perished, and over the next year the rest died off. Zach survived all of these battles, even being shot down once but surviving with only moderate injuries. What he lacked in natural talent he quickly made up with experience as he survived a dozen dogfights and was promoted into the TIE Interceptor squadrons. After a few more skirmishes he was selected to replace a recently deceased pilot in the elite Shadow Squadron. As the new Shadow Nine, Zak is the youngest and most inexperienced among the other pilots.
Throughout it all, Zachariah managed to retain his religious views as well as finding time to worship the Goddess Shiraya, the lunar god of Naboo.
