The New Jedi Council was a Jedi roleplaying group that came into existence on SW-Fans.Net in 2001. It was created as a result of a split that had occurred within the Greater Jedi Order which resulted in a small group of roleplayers leaving the group and establishing their own separate Jedi order.
The New Jedi Council lasted as a rival Jedi group for a few months. However within time the acrimony between the 2 groups disappeared, and as a result of this as well as the inability to grow beyond it's original core membership the group disbanded and rejoined the Greater Jedi Order in the latter part of 2001.
