In-Character
Very little is known of the man who calls himself Hurucan: a name taken from a Mayan god of storms. He first came to the attention of the authorities in Europe in the early 20th Century, where he was suspected of being involved with a number of militant activist groups. He is known for his largely anti-Human sentiments, and is wanted by law enforcement agencies in six different countries in conjunction with various murder enquiries. Being such a mysterious figure, and having been so rarely sighted - let alone apprehended - it is unclear whether the current Hurucan is the same individual encountered by law enforcement a century ago.
He was recently sighted in New York, where he was sighted making contact with at least one costumed mutant vigilante, known as Flux. His objective at the time was to discover the location of the mutant sanctuary, known as Cullens' School for the Gifted. (Electricity and Magnets)
Shortly after his last sighting, police in Paris recieved a number of anonymous tips that suggested Hurucan's presence in the country. Fortunately for the French authorities, the intent behind his presence in their nation was not to do harm to the public; instead, he was travelling in pursuit of Anita Florence and her mother, with a view to reveal certain 'oversights' in the information that had been provided to Anita about her past. (Consequence)
Returning to England, Hurucan travelled in search of Alec Goreman, the son of a woman that Hurucan had 'encountered' several decades previously. He revealed to Alec that he was in fact his biological father, and attempted to recruit him into his various Mutant activities. (The Maxims of Conversation)
Powers
The most prominant side-effect of Hurucan's mutation is his ability to manipulate electric fields and currents, commonly classified as Electrokinesis. This usually manifests in the form of projectile "lightning", although he has been observed to draw electrical energy out of power sources, disrupting electrical appliances and draining internal batteries. He appears to be capable of storing up an electrical charge within his body, to be released later: no indication of the limits on this ability have been observed.
Hurucan is also capable of teleportation. This ability seems linked to his electrokinesis, in that he requires a high level of electrical charge in his body in order to utilise this ability.
Out Of Character
Jace has been around on the site since January 2007. He knows all the things, including board lore, random trivia, and really really terrible jokes and puns.
