A unit within Division Five of the [[Alliance SpecForce]] - the "Fighting Fifth" - the '''Special Reconnaissance Regiment''' is a special force that was created to bridge the gap between SpecForce and [[Alliance SpecOps]]. The unit provides an infrastructure whereby SpecForce can provide support to Special Operations, and also so that the organisation can conduct such missions on its own, without the reliance on specialist Special Operations Groups. More importantly, it allowed the operations to be conducted entirely under the umbrella of SpecForce, without any complications in jurisdiction and chain-of-command.

Dalgas saw the potential benefits of a permenant unit of that nature, that would be able to make use of that cooperation and assorted skill set, as well as benefit from small-team tactics, and from the familiarity of having worked with the same individuals on numerous past occasions.

Commanded from the Star Destroyer Horizon, Task Force 75 is an independently operating Task Group within the Fourth Fleet of the Alliance Navy. It was established under Commodore Vansen Tyree with the purpose of causing as much trouble to Imperial shipping along the Perlemian Trade Route as possible, in particular creating problems for shipments into and out of the Corporate Sector: with the emergence of The Independents, and their seizing control of the rimward arm of the Hydian Way, the Perlemian Trade Route has become the sole "save" supply route out of the Sector.

Though small, the Task Force is designed to be able to match toe-to-toe with an Imperial Star Destroyer and her escorts, or an equivalent Corporate Sector force. The unit is not equipped to engage in large-scale fleet combat, however.

Headquarters

Though Task Force 75 has no official home port, as a subsidiary of the Fourth Fleet it often makes port at Mon Calamari to undergo repairs and gather supplies. Also, because of its area of operations along the Perlemian Trade Route, the Task Force often visits the Roche Asteroids.

Branches

Viper Squadron:
Based aboard the Horizon, Viper Squadron is one of the Task Force's main interceptor squadrons. They fly the RZ-1 A-Wing Interceptor.

Raptor Squadron:
Also based aboard the Horizon, Raptor Squadron is one of the Task Force's main space superiority squadrons. Though they originally flew the T-65B X-Wing Starfighter, they have recently been upgraded to the RZ-2 A-Wing Interceptor. The Squadron currently includes Captain Jaden Luka.

Talon Squadron:
Formed from the fighters left over when Raptor Squadron converted to the Mark II A-Wing, Talon Squadron was formed from personnel already present aboard the Task Force who had experience of piloting, and could be trained up internally to combat status. This includes the Wildcards commando team. They typically fly the T-65B X-Wing Starfighter.

Challanger Air Wing:
The bulk of the Task Force's fighter compliment is made up of planes from aboard the the Challanger. They include an assortment of RZ-1 A-Wing Interceptors, T-65B X-Wing Starfighters, and BTL-S3 Y-Wing Starfighters.

Members

Horizon:
A Victory-class Star Destroyer that served during the early years of the Galactic Empire, Horizon was retired from service and sold off to the Corporate Sector Authority. After decades in service it was due to be scrapped, but was "rescued" from a CSA salvage yard by the Rebel Alliance, and restored to active status. She currently serves under the command of Commodore Vansen Tyree as the flagship of Task Force 75. Colonel Conrad Pressly serves as her XO and CAG, while Chief Vulcan Tanner is her Chief of the Deck.

Challanger:
A Venator-class Star Destroyer left over from the Clone Wars, the Challanger was sold directly into the Bothan Defense Fleet after the war ended, and has served there since. In recent years it served primarily as an orbital platforms for Bothan starfighter squadrons; she was captured by the Rebel Alliance during the Liberation of Bothawui.

Odyssey:
A Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser, operated as an escort for Task Force 75. It was one of the vessels released into Rebel service from the Bothan Defense Fleet after the Liberation of Bothawui.

Phoenix:
A Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser, operated as an escort for Task Force 75. It was one of the vessels released into Rebel service from the Bothan Defense Fleet after the Liberation of Bothawui.

Intrepid:
An EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate operated by the Rebel Alliance for years. Prior to joining Task Force 75, it served as the base of operations for Dorn Force.

Fearless:
An EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate operated as an escort for Task Force 75.

Rising Star:
A Quasar Fire-class Bulk Cruiser operated as a support ship and cargo tender for Task Force 75.

Multiple others, including at least two MC30c Star Frigates, and several small craft such as DP20 Corellian Gunships, CR90 Corellian Corvettes, and GR75 Medium Transports.
