Koensayr 42 is an X-7 Factory Station built by Kost & Ko Factories, a subsidiary of the the Telgorn Corporation. It was constructed for use as a Deep Space Manufacturing Facility by Koensayr Manufacturing.

As of 3 ABY, the station was under the control of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, who used it as an automated factory to manufacture BTL-A4 Y-Wing Starfighters for the Rebellion. Koensayr 42 was attacked by the Galactic Empire as part of Operation: Clean Sweep, but was successfully defended. It was subsequently adopted as an R&D facility by Alliance Underground Engineering, and became the main facility for the FreiTek Incorporated design team.

After the Alliance-Imperial Treaty of 10 ABY, both Koensayr Manufacturing and the FreiTek Incorporated team became part of Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei. The station began and continued a number of research and development projects for the Alliance of Free Planets, eventually culminating in the V-Wing Airspeeder, E-Wing Starfighter, and K-Wing Bomber. (Marriages of Convenience)

A year later, pilots from the Alliance Frigate Novgorod were invited to assist in the testing of what would become the A-Wing II Interceptor. (Novgorod: Prototypical Behavior)
