The first unit to be equipped with the then-experimental B-Wing Assault Fighter, Dagger Squadron was involved in the defense and evacuation of Shantipole Station when it was discovered by the Empire. The unit was dissolved soon after, with pilots ultimately forming the basis of Blue Squadron during the Battle of Endor.
Later reformed, Dagger Squadron was assigned to the Valiant, providing an anti-starship role to counterpoint the A-Wings of Valkyrie Squadron. They participated in the Battle of Bothawui, but suffered several losses. Following the reassignment of the Valiant to help protect The Wheel, Dagger Squadron was dissolved, with the surviving pilots being used to bolster other units.
