Originally the Iego Angel, this yacht was the personal transport of Holonet News reporter Atton Kira, until the ship was stolen from a starport on Nar Shaddaa by the Montegue brothers, and renamed Crimson Tide. Extensively modified, the Tide is crewed predominantly by droids, with the exception of Vittore Montegue and Sadie K'Vesh, for whom the Tide is their permanent residence.

The Crimson Tide is owned by Atton Kira in the The Force Awakens era.

History

The Iego Angel was custom built for Atton Kira a few years after the Clone Wars, paid for with the remnants of his father's fortune. It was the perfect craft: on the surface it looked like exactly the sort of ship a young and wealthy trust fund socialite would own; but beneath the surface it was equipped with features and facilities perfectly suited to his career as an information broker, masquerading as a Holonet News reporter. Configured to make extensive use of droid operation, the Angel also boasted military grade holonet transceivers, some not-entirely-legal sensor and stealth upgrades, and an assortment of codebreaking and intelligence-gathering hardware.

Atton Kira lost ownership of the Angel while on Nar Shaddaa, when the ship was stolen by Vittore Montegue and his brother. Fortunately, Atton's insurance policy deemed the ship irrevocably lost, and so when Atton and Vittore found themselves in a working relationship some years later, Vittore had inadvertently been responsible for a sizeable windfall for Atton. Using his underworld connections, Vittore obtained new transponder codes; the Angel became the Crimson Tide, and a number of tweaks were made - including a new paint job - to help obscure the structural fingerprint of her old identity.

Vittore used the Crimson Tide interchangeably with the Hunter II - his vintage Y-Wing - for several years, choosing between the two craft based on how much danger he expected to find himself in, and whether or not there would be a body, captive, or rescued hostages needing to be brought back at the end of a bounty. Vittore relied upon the hospitality of his Uncle Elroy on Junction to store the craft that wasn't in use. When Vittore became involved with The Exchange however, he had both craft moved to his new "home" on Cloud City.

The next significant change to the Tide came when Vittore invited Sadie K'Vesh - an abused slicer he'd wound up rescuing on behalf of The Exchange - to live aboard the ship until she found her feet. The Tide quickly became her home as well, with Sadie frequently assisting Vittore on his bounty contracts; and eventually, without Sadie's knowledge, Vittore had the Tide's registration altered, ensuring that ownership would default to Sadie if anything were to happen to him.

Layout

Floorplan / Layout
The internal layout of the Crimson Tide was designed to suit the needs of Atton Kira - a former intelligence officer turned information broker - but has changed very little since finding it's way into the hands of Vittore Montegue.

The cockpit (1) is configured to be operated by a single pilot, though it additionally includes a communications terminal and a wall-mounted astromech socket - both usually manned by the ship's droid crew while in flight. A large cabin (3) on the port side of the ship is also primarily used by the ship's droids droids: it features a small medical bay used by Bumblebee, a workspace for communications droid Sleazy (though this is often used as a slicing station by Sadie K'Vesh), and the computer interface used by astromech Katie. Atton Kira's private workspace (8), located as far away from the droids as possible, has more recently been converted by Captain Montegue into an interrogation room for captured bounty targets, while the workshop (6) has been converted into an armoury for Montegue's extensive collection of weapons.

Passenger accommodations (7) are minimal, with only two bunks available; this room is currently given over to sole use by Sadie K'Vesh, however. The Captain's suite (2) has a private lounge area, which Montegue uses as his "office"; since Sadie has been aboard, Montegue leaves the door permanently open, and allows Sadie to use the Captain's 'fresher - complete with hydro-shower - rather than the 'fresher located behind the workshop/armoury.
