Thought we could use a thread for character plotting, if nothing else then perhaps to see where we might be able to interact with one another in threads and what our plans are. I'll begin with my three; Alliance - Anne Phoenix: After resigning her Alliance commission following the signing of the peace treaty, Anne had tried to resurrect her family owned shipping business but that was hijacked during the Brutes of Baskar business. After that event ended she ended up selling her family business to her investor(s) and resigned with the Alliance Navy with a lesser commission, hoping to help track down and bring to justice the pirates and slavers plaguing the edges of Alliance space. Towards this end I'm planning to have her coincidentally in the Mustafar/Terminus region with a small task force hunting down a menacing pirate gang when things kick off and they end up helping some of the fleeing refugees and having limited engagements with Ssi-Ruuvi Pursuit forces. Empire - Bastille Vikrax: Having done nothing with this character in the TFA era setting, I'm planning on converting Vikrax into this timeline as an Imperial Line Captain and using him to help fill in the ranks as needed. Ssi-Ruu - Svl'Pikilis: Red Scaled (Military) Ssi-Ruuk that oversees logistics as an administrative Rear-Admiral within the Navy. I'm planning on exploring and expanding on their navy and tactics while leaving the front line combat to the mysticism of the NPC and other people's Ruu character(s).
It would make me crosseyed to plotter out all my characters where they are at the moment. Instead, I'll just take a cop-out and say that depending on the story being told, all of my characters in that timeline are effectively on the table for this. Some might directly participate in the war, but all will probably be affected in some way.
I'm in a similar boat to Charley, in that I have a whole slew of characters who could potentially become involved in this, depending on how the story goes. Of particular note however, on the Imperial side of things - Minister Amés Falcon Liszt - Minister of the Interior, whose role is essentially that of the Home Secretary in a James Bond movie: the politician who sits above COMPNOR, ISB, Intel, the Knights, etc. He's definitely a politician rather than a warrior or strategist, so he's probably more likely to be in planning meetings, and helping to book-end any espionage and intrigue stories we might have going on. Grand Moff Augustus Valorum - Grand Moff for the region that includes Eriadu and the Outer Rim. I created him for a story that fell through, so I haven't quite got a handle on him yet. Presumably he will be involved in any sort of Imperial Command tactical discussion type threads, and at the Battle of Eriadu. Depending on whether or not he clicks with me over the course of that, he may or may not survive the Empire's catastrophic losses there. Moff Ceto Rübezahl - Governor of the Greater Javin. He is more of a Governor Price sort of Moff: someone whose primary experience is with politics, business, and COMPNOR, but who also isn't a complete idiot when it comes to military matters. I ordinarily wouldn't put him forward for a leadership role in this storyline, but it was his Star Destroyer that encountered the Ssi-Ruuk during the Vanguards storyline (he was one of the few survivors, and spent the next few months until the Treaty as an Alliance POW), so he might be someone that - initially at least - might holo-project into leadership meetings to offer his first-hand insight/knowledge, at least until others start gaining that experience themselves. Moff Delgado Xaanan - Governor of the Corellian Sector. His position doesn't scream involvement at this point, but Corellia is currently surrounded by a sizeable blockade, which a) might make it an inviting stronghold and staging point for military forces planning to deploy down the hyperlanes to Terminus. After the defeat at Eriadu, he's also going to be in command of one of the Empire's more sizeable military forces, and one of it's more secure shipbuilding facilities. He is also (eventually) going to become Supreme Leader of the First Order in our TFA setting, so I would love to start seeing some of the foundations of that here, perhaps with Delgado lending ships from the Blockade to help out on the front lines, tightening his iron grip on Corellia to up their production of reinforcements, making the friendships and alliances that will lead to the New Republic and then the First Order moving forward, and things of that ilk. Perhaps he'd have some involvement in any dealings we have with the Chiss, since the Unknown Regions (their back yard) is where the First Order sought refuge? He also has Rinzai Terius as his main military advisor, and they've got an Interdictor Star Destroyer as their current flagship. Deputy Director Emeric Tallen - Deputy Director of Advanced Weapons Research. He has Orson Krennic's old job, and his division has inherited the contents of the "Black Archives" (from my Lúka Jibral story stuff) after the Inquisitors disbanded (ish) and the Empire withdrew from the Maw. He's an evil scientist, so if we decide we're going to turn the population of a planet into zombies so that the Ssi-Ruuk can't entech them, or something morbid and nefarious like that, he's our man. It's also incredibly likely that some of the salvage from Vanguards has managed to cross his path, so he may have some insights into their tech that we might try (and fail?) to exploit. Captain Ouran Akasha - Captain of the Deliverance. Officially, he commands an Interdictor that is used mostly for courier and patrol missions. Unofficially, it's been tinkered with by Advanced Weapons Research, and is a bit like the SSV Normandy from Mass Effect, used to discretely transport and deploy SpecOps folks to wherever they need to be delivered to. If anyone has soldiers, pilots, officers, or anything along those lines that are at a loose end, and they want to hop aboard (permanently or temporarily) to take part in stuff, there's plenty of room. Achilles Sienar-Santhe - CEO of the Santhe/Sienar Corporation, and all it's subsidiaries. The Treaty messed things up for Sienar quite a bit (they're from the Tion Cluster originally, which is now in Alliance space), so Achilles has spent the last two years shuffling things around. When Taataani Meorrrei smushed her holdings together into Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei, Achilles acquired the leftovers of the Incom Corporation, and (among other things) is/was setting up factories to build I-7 Howlrunners on Bespin for the Greater Javin's private security forces. He's also got a research lab set up there that is working on developing the TIE/d Droid Fighters, which initially was going to be a "recruitment is down, lets save our living pilots for better planes" replacement for the TIE, but is probably going to become more of an "oh shit, we can't train pilots quickly enough" sort of thing. I'll probably invest a chunk of that stuff in Corellia (for Solo reasons), which might set up some interesting espionage opportunities for the Resistance and Alliance. Also, if anything happens with the Chiss, he would absolutely want in. And on the Alliance side - Senator Tukphen - Representing the Mon Calamari population of Dac. Also the Minister of Supply, and the de facto point person for the Mon Calamari Shipyards. Geoff and I have already talked about our Senators wanting to help out with the influx of refugees moving into Alliance space, and away from the danger zones along the Alliance border. I'd also like to exploit that Mon Cal Shipyards angle to bring in some new toys for us to play with - MC-85 cruisers like the Raddus, and the bombers from The Last Jedi all date from the shortly-after-Endor era, so now seems like a good opportunity to roll them out. Senator Torrsk Oruo'rel - Representing Bothawui. He's the Minister of Defense, the former leader of SpecForce, and he's been a fighter with the Alliance since the beginning. Despite his status, I wouldn't be surprised to see him pulling a Moff and finding an excuse to be on the bridge of a starship during some of the bigger engagements: I imagine being behind a desk probably does not agree with him. Senator Kelvin Stark and Rear Admiral Zane Brasko - When the pre-Treaty ceasefire happened, Kelvin (a General at the time) saw the way the winds were turning, and led his forces in a coup against the incumbent Moff and the Sector Forces. When the Rebellion became the Alliance of Free Planets, he offered the military support of what remained of those Sector Forces, in exchange for being made a Senator. The Gordian Reach Sector Force is essentially a unit of Alliance-loyal Imperials, who one day showed up to work wearing slightly different uniforms. They accept ex-Imperials from all over the Alliance (people who might not feel 100% comfortable transitioning to the Alliance military, etc), and still operate a lot of their existing Imperial tech, though over the past two years they may have mixed in some Alliance options (hyperspace starfighters, etc) into their repertoir. High Admiral Trance Farani and Commodore Varon Farani - Mother and son. She commands the Hapan Royal Navy, and he commands one of the few Hapan ships that regularly operates alongside the Alliance military. The Admiral has been working with the Alliance to develop the Majestic, the first of which is probably more or less complete, and will act as her flagship. Admiral Vansen Tyree - Commander of the Fourth Fleet, which protects Bothawui, and surrounding sectors. He's also in charge of trying to convince all of the assorted militias and militaries of the Alliance to play nice and work together, so if there is and sort of combined fleet of Hapans, Cizerack, Mon Cal, ex-Imperials, Wookiees, or whatever, he's probably in there somewhere. Since his current command (the Challenger) is currently being used as a museum and training academy, he'll probably end up commanding one of the Alliance's newer ships. Admiral Crotalus Viridis - Commander of the Fifth Fleet, which protects Sullust, Sluis Van, and surrounding sectors. He has also been heading up a project that saw folks like SoroSuub and Incom-Koensayr-Meorrrei banding together with the Sluis Van Shipyards to "compete" with the monopoly the Mon Calamari have on the Alliance fleet. This is basically the "New Class Modernization Program" from the EU, but with a different wrapper. If we're involved in any sort of counterattack or reinforcements at Eriadu, I'd like to at least see Viridis sailing in with an Endurance and a couple of Defender escorts, or something like that. I'm also toying with the idea of making a Tiss'shar to act as a sort of Weyoun / Vorta type character as and when the Saurian Alliance becomes a thing. Tiss'shar are notorious diplomats and negotiators, so if there are any Saurian-type worlds that the Ssi-Ruuk want to ally with rather than enslave, the Tiss'shar would be a handy group to help make that happen. Their homeworld is also up near the Corporate Sector, so once we've progressed the Terminus/Eriadu/etc side of things, there's potential for the Ssi-Ruuk getting a stronghold up at the opposite end of the galaxy, for a bit of a two-pronged approach.
I am writing up something to get Lash into things. A bit of backstory a bit of foreshadowing. but as for his involvement, I think he will meet up with whoever along the way after I am done with this bit of storyline. Reshmar could pop in somewhere also not sure how much time I will have but I would like to get the old fish into at least some cameo appearances. As I said time is a determining factor the desire is there to write awesomeness but I have a lot of boats in the water so to speak.
What's the best way to reach you for chats/ideas? I'd love to figure out some Resh stuff!
I can see some interaction between Anne Phoenix and Admiral Crotalus Viridis, as he would likely control Atravis Sector as well. Also planning on bringing in a Yevethan character as well, doing some brainstorming for the Duskhan League the last day or so. Not planning on involving them in an alliance with the Vagaari or Ssi-Ruuk, at least initially, but the timing would be good for them to start making some moves and they could help be a part of the reason as to why the Empire comes off "worse for the wear" in the upcoming conflict.
ALLIANCE: Thada Adel - Quarren Senator from Dac, along with Tukphen. She will want to do as much as she can to support the refugee crisis. She will see her own peoples plight in the face of the displaced masses and use the opportunity to showcase that the Quarren people are not the rebellious monsters they have made themselves out to be. She will likely spend time on the front line, despite Tukphen's complaints, and campaign strongly for aid for the affected worlds. She will make sure that the refugees are not abused by the worlds that take them in. Zwane Nkosi - It's a safe bet to assume that Titan Squadron will get pulled into this conflict at some point. Kyle Krogen, Shawkyrr Nerrani, and Judas Voss are rebel combatants on Corellia. Should forces be pulled from the planet they will exploit the weakened state. EMPIRE: Alexia Sturkov - This Imperial Knight is currently stationed on Corellia and is heading up the civil war with the Rebellion. For the invasion arc she could be placed back in her battle group aboard the ISD Victrix or be Xaanan's hammer in any conflict the Moff involves himself in. Zachariah Jak'el - If we can unite enough pieces of the unit, I imagine Shadow Squadron will be itching for a second fight with the Ssi-Ruu. Jackal participated in the Vanguard space battle. Jarvan Trask - Should any boots on the ground be needed, than Trask is your man. This Stormtrooper Lieutenant often works alongside the Imperial Knights in close combat engagements. AGENTS OF CHAOS: Damien Kantrael - Leader of the terrorist organization The Sons of Coruscant, Damien will exploit any planetary weakness created by the invasion and strike against his former allies in the Empire and against the Alliance. He wishes to continue to fight the civil war that has been put on hold by the cold war peace treaty, and isn't afraid to pick a fight with the cowards in the Empire or the successor of the rebel dogs. After the last battle with the Ssi-Ruu, the Sons attempted to reverse engineer the Enteching process and have had some success with it for the use of entombing crippled soldiers within their land and space war machines. They will be eager to get their hands on Ssi-Ruu technology to refine the process. Yogmoth the Devourer - A space pirate that's plagued the spaceways since the Clone Wars, Yogmoth boasts a significant Scum fleet and doesn't discriminate when it comes to the victims of his raids. Empire and Alliance alike will be targets, or even the Ssi-Ruu if he feels that the profits will be worth the cost. He could even be swayed to pick a side for the right price. Oh, and he eats people. Ezra Na'chtion - The defacto leader of the resurrected Sith Order, Ezra has a small handful of sith warriors at his disposal and a legion of Sithspawn that he has been cultivating. Tanaab's position puts him in a place to launch sithspawn invasions against numerous Imperial and Alliance worlds should he wish to field test his monsters. Ezra would also be VERY interested in getting his hands on Ssi-Ruu bodies (alive or dead) for use in his Sith Alchemy. ATHENA - A member of the Droid Liberation Front, ATHENA is a zealous xenophobe who believes in artificial life above all other. Like the others she will be looking to take advantage of the destabilized galaxy following the initial invasion. She would likely even assist the Ssi-Ruu in their war if they thought having a (not really) immortal droid army on their side. Alexander Bane - the leader of a dangerous Sith Cult on Corellia, Alex is not likely to hold back an inch should the garrisons weaken for even a moment.
